The meet boasts a strong history of qualifying athletes for major National events. In previous seasons, the meet has hosted many big names, including, Alan Webb, Duane Solomon, Morgan Uceny, Nate Brannen, Anna Willard, Shannon Rowbury, Josh McAdams, and Christian Smith just to name a few. For a full list of the top 50 times ever run in each event at AMC meets, look here: http://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?do=title&title_id=513&event_id=147. Indiana University, Notre Dame, Purdue University as well as others generally send a very good contingent of athletes to the AMC Meets!
This years meets promise to boast entry lists the likes of which have never been seen in the series. With the 2012 Olympic Trials quickly approaching, athletes will be looking to lock in their spot in the Trials! Leading times thus far entered for the AMC Meets are as follows:
Men: 800: 1:45/ 1500: 3:35/ Steeple: 8:19/ 5000m: 13:34
Women: 800: 2:01/1500: 4:06/Steeple: 9:42/5000m: 15:35

The time schedule for the meets is unavailable at this time, however, meets are generally held late in the evening with the start of the “Open” races usually between 7:30-9:00 pm. “Open” races are generally held prior to the “Invitational” races and feature athletes on the cusp of becoming National Caliber. Many times, athletes will run in an Open race in order to qualify for a future Invitational race. All Invitational races are held “under the lights”, allowing for the high summer temperatures to drop and the wind to die down providing the best possible racing experience. Exact time schedule will be released by the day prior to the meet, after receiving all entries and when a general idea of the weather forecast is available.
Spectators are encouraged to attend. There’s no better place to see runners only previously seen on television in person in our own backyard! The atmosphere at AMC Meets is always electric, providing excitement for both the fans as well as the athletes! The mood is always positive, and athletes are usually available for autographs and pictures post race. Nowhere will you be able to watch athletes of this caliber for just $5!
