Elena Lancioni Training Blog 5/31 – Gearing Up for State!
Week of 5/23/12(week before state)
This past week I have dropped my miles down and been preparing for the state meet on Friday! At the beginning of the week my legs just were not feeling too great, I have been rolling them out and taking ice baths to make sure they feel better.
Wednesday 5/23 – Easy 5 miles
Thursday 5/24 - Workout! Two mile warm-up. I had a solo workout today of 5x1000s. The first 1000 hit my time, but after that it went a little downhill.
Friday 5/25 - Easy 5 miles.
Saturday 5/26- Workout. Two mile warm-up. I would have to say this was probably not the greatest workout. I just wasn’t feeling the too good. I did 2x800s and 2x400s.
Sunday 5/27- Took the day off. I swam a little in our lake though to wake up my legs.
Monday 5/28- 1 mile warm-up. Tempo pace 1600 on the track. 1×800 and 2×200.
Tuesday 5/29- Easy 5 miles. Pace, pace, bust of 3x200s afterwards
Wednesday 5/30- Today was my last day of school! 1 mile warm-up. 1×800 and 2×200. 1 mile cool down.
Well good luck to everyone racing on Friday and Saturday! I am heading down to Bloomington this morning (Thursday). I have been very excited and looking I am forward to racing!
