Elena Lancioni 5/3/2012 Blog – Princess City Relays Week

Elena Lancioni - Sophomore - LaPorte High School

Week of 4/23/12

Monday –Easy 5 miles with strides.

Other: Core

Tuesday- DAC meet against Portage and Michigan City. I ran the 4×8, 1600, and

800 today. Normal 12 minute warm-up and cool down.

Other:Plyos

Wednesday- Medium/long day of 7ish miles again with strides afterwards.

Other: Core, plyos

Thursday- Easy day of 5 miles.

Other: Core

Friday-Princess Relays! I was so excited; I was able to run my first outdoor

3200! I had to wait for about an hour and half, which always makes me

anticipate the race even more. I did a 12 minute warm-up with my teammate and

we did stretches/plyos before the race together. During the race I ran with my

friend, Kristina Galat from Penn, she was awesome competition and we both earned

new pr’s in the 3200! I had goal times for each lap, but I always have a hard time

looking at my watch each lap…so I just tried to keep a steady pace.

Saturday- Really easy workout of 2x100s, 1×400, & 4x100s. 2 mile warm-up and

cool down.

Other: Core

Sunday- I have never ran really late in the evening before, but I promised Mitch

Hubner I would run with him one Sunday. I ended up running with him, Dakota

Dubbs, and Nathan Gerick on the golf course in the rain. Running with the guys

never fails to be entertaining, so I had a very amusing and fun run.

I can’t believe that post-season is just around the corner! Our conference meet

is already next week! Also, if there are any suggestions to up the ante on my blog,

just let me know…please

Total Mileage: 39 miles
