Hey everyone! Sorry that I have been slow to put up my blog. I got caught up last weekend in studying and going to Indy with some friends. Last week was a decent week and this week I got sick Monday night and have been sick since then.

Week 2, 8/27-9/2
Monday 8/27: First day running in new training shoes and it decides to start pouring in the middle of my run. Our course was pretty flooded for about the 30 minutes it rained. I ended up with 8 mile for the day.
Tuesday 8/28: Today was a workout. Coach had us to 6 repeat 800′s continuous on our course. I averaged 2:24 for them and they were 2:26, 2:28, 2:26, 2:22, 2:29, 2:14. Total miles for the day was 6.
Wednesday 8/29: Today was a easy run with the team. I did 10 miles.
Thursday 8/30: We had a meet today at North Harrison but the varsity did not run because our coach thought it was a good idea to wait for the preview. We did 3 by 3′s which is when you run 3 miles take a little break then run another. but the last one I did 4. We had a teammate run a time trial so I ended up running about an extra mile getting his time and cheering on the JV. I got 11 for the day.
Friday 8/31: Pre-race run for 6 miles.

Saturday 9/1: State Preview.. I don’t have much to say about it except for my performance was not the greatest. I ran a 17:02 and was 3rd for the team. Our team got 6th which we weren’t looking to getting, but when your fifth man run 18:20 you can’t do that well in a race as a team. We will have a new guy running for us this coming week, and hopefully he can have a solid week. He has never ran Cross Country in High School and neither a 5k except for one road race this summer.
Sunday 9/2: Was going to run before church but didn’t wake up. After church me and about 8 friends drove up to Indy to go to Skyzone. If you don’t know what it is, it is a huge area of trampolines where you can play dodgeball, basketball, and more. As we were almost to Indy we realized you had to have a reserved time and none of us knew, so when we called they said they were completely booked for the whole day. We decided to just go to the mall and chill there for a few hours. I didn’t get home till about 8 and ended up taking the day off.
Week Total: 50

Week 2, 9/3-9/9
Monday 9/3:
Today was a pre-race run in the morning because we didn’t have school. I only did 3 because I felt horrible and knees were bothering me.
Tuesday 9/4: Scottsburg Invitational, The night before this I started feeling sick and woke up feeling like crap. Before the race i felt pretty weak but tried not thinking about it. Arthur, Lane, and I have been going through our first mile in about 5:08 every race and today we came through at 5:27. I honestly don’t know how it happened but I think that just messed up everyone’s times. I ended up at 17:31, but every year i usually run about 20-30 seconds slower on this course than the rest. I got 8 miles for the day.
Wednesday 9/5: After school it was pouring but we did a steady run as a team and i got 7 miles for the day.
Thursday 9/6: Felt really sick today, and coach had us to 8 200 meter strides at 7/8 speed but I went about 3/4 cause I felt bad. After the strides I got sick and threw up for the first time after a run. I ended up with 4 miles for the day.
Friday 9/7: Pre-race run. I started running and about a mile into the run the bottom of my left knee was hurting and still felt terrible. I stopped after the 1.5 mark and was done for the day.
Saturday 9/8: Today was the Mater Dei Invitational and it went pretty well. Our team won with a score of 44. I ran 17:00, but with about 400 to go I was about 15 seconds behind Lane and Arthur (they ran 16:25 and 16:27) and then my legs like got real tight and was really hard to move. I slowed down a lot, but I wasn’t so mad with time since I had a bad week of training. I got home and decided to do another 3 mile run. I was a little mad with the effort i gave so i pushed the 2nd mile and the splits were 6:18, 5:05, 6:42. Total miles for the day were 11.
Sunday 9/9: Haven’t ran yet but I plan to run between 7 and 10 miles steady.
Week Total: 41-44
