Im probably the laziest kid ever. My blogs have been so repetitive so i know its getting boring. This will be my 6th week at 70 MPW. Im going to hold there for two more weeks then move up to 75 for a month, then 80 for a month and continue to move up to hopefully around 90 MPW. I usually am doing one workout per week which is usually something like 5-6xmile @ 5 flat.
Intercollegiate was an absolute nightmare for us. Spencer Burgin was coming off a achilles injury and Ryan Kelly is still recovering from a bout of anemia. Spence is usually are 1-2 runner with Zane so seeing him struggle like that hurt us. Were working hard and trying to move forward though.
We have some recruits coming in soon. Were looking at about 10 of the states best runners right now!! Were moving forward quickly

What's up IR.
Great start to the highschool/college racing season. Some interesting stuff early on.
The past 4 weeks Ive just been trying to hit 70 mpw. Usually this consists of:
1 long run of 14+ miles.
1 workout.
5 runs of 8-10 miles.
I try to keep my recovery days between 610-630 pace but if im feeling tired ill slow down to 7 flat. Last week was my first hard workout of the year, shootout to teammate Pryce Ragains for doing it with me!
8x1000 @ 310 with 400m jog rest at 6:00 per mile pace.
It was a real tough one. Aerobically I felt strong but that lactic acid build up was crazy. I averaged 5:18 a mile for 6 miles. So I was happy with that.
Everyone here at IUPUI is working hard and looking great! Were progressing well and heading to Eastern Illinois.
Hope everyone is running well and enjoying the great fall weather!

This week Ill be between 75-80. Did an 18 mile long run with Ryan Kelly which made me feel a lot more confident with what Im doing. I actually have my first workout today which will be 4Xmile @ 510. I haven't done any fast stuff in a while so were gonna have to see how it goes but im kinda excited for it. I start classes next week so I wont have as much downtime but i'll live. Sorry im late again. Had to move in to Indianapolis. Im living with pretty good people and runners in Nate Westfall (4:23 1:59) Spence Burgin( 4:19, 1:57) and Ryan Kelly (9:28). Pretty excited. I tweaked my hip so iv been taking it easy, 50 miles this week. HOPEFULLY next week ill be back higher but its just been an awful week of training. If any of you guys are looking to run in college get at me on Facebook or e-mail Coach Koeppen or coach Fruits. Id be happy to field college or recruiting questions.

First off I want to apologize to Drake and the IR community for my tardiness. These last two days have been very busy and the E-Mail off my phone was not working so I apologize for that.
As I stated in my last blog this past week was a down week for me. I hit 47 miles which is my lowest total of the summer. I was feeling really leg dead the week prior and I could'nt figure out why. First I thought it was training too much to early in the Kinvaras (I'm in them full time). I consulted with my good friend Kyle Overway and he reassured me that this was not the case. I then thought maybe it was my allergies and asthma so I began taking some stronger allergy medicine and my inhaler more regulatory. This also did not seem to help. I finally figured I was just tired as my last three weeks were my three highest ever. The mileage and humidity of northwest Indiana was killer! Im pretty big on recovery and letting my body rest.
This week was as I stated earlier at 47 miles. I did 5 runs at 5-6.5 miles, 1 at 3 miles and my long day of 15. To start this week I feel much better and Im getting a really solid start to my week. Today I was fortunate to run with to of the best up and coming distance runners in the NCAA in Michael and Craig Jordan. Michael is a 9 flat 3k steepler and Craig is a 1:50 800m runner. It was great talking running with them and I wish them both the best!!
Well thats about it, hope everyone is running well and enjoying their last few weeks of summer! Get at my with questions I haven't gotten any lately :'(

This past week was great due to David Osborn coming home for three weeks from Oklahoma. He's been killing it lately as this was his first week ever over 100 mpw! Its defiantly going to be nice training with him before I leave!
Going to take a down week at around 60 or so next week. I'm just feeling a little tired and i'v been having some aches in my legs. I'm all for training hard but sometimes when your struggling to get good intensity on your runs (which I am having problems with currently) Its time to take a little time to recover. I probably won't double much if any at all this week and just do runs of 7-8 miles then a long run on Sunday of 16+.

This week was a great week of training, mostly because my good friend Kyle Overway came up to the region for four days. More importantly we saw a Iyaz, Big Sean, LMFAO and Mike Posner concert! It was a great time as Big Sean rocked it AND gave Kyle and I a shout-out!!!!! Also, anyone thinking of going to a Mike Posner concert.... don't do it. We almost left during the Posner performance before Sean returned to the stage to finish the concert.
Overall it was a great week....Solid week of training, concert and once again showing Kyle my superiority in basketball.
Until next time

Hey guys I hope all is well! This week was my first week back at high mileage. I ran 80 miles this week and felt pretty solid. I averaged 645 for the week so I was happy with it.
This is how my week broke down.

Tuesday -10 (5 mile pick up in 5:56 last mile was in 5:23)
Wednesday- 7 miles at 6:13 pace with a 5:15 mile thrown in the middle. 3 mile shakeout at night.
Thursday-7 @ 645. 3 miles (closed in 4:57)
Friday-7 miles @7:27 pace 5 miles @ 645 pace
Saturday-7 miles @ 650 pace 4 miles @ 645 pace
Sunday- 17 miles @ 640
I like doubling because my body starts to get sluggish if I run more then an hour straight for alot of consecutive days. One thing im doing alot of this summer is hill work. Im a very poor hill runner so iv been doing alot at the Indiana dunes and on hillier routes. This is my 3rd week full time in Kinvaras and I love them!! I feel as though im becoming a more efficient runner from minimalism but only time will tell if it works.
Next week should be a fun blog as Kyle Overway and I are planning on heading up to Michigan for a week of training and concerts!

Hey guys! My name is Ryan Cutter. I recently graduated from Chesterton High School and starting next Fall I will be attending IUPUI to run Cross Country AND Track as we will now be participating in both sports. Its and exciting time to be a Jaguar and for those of you interested in running in college give us a look! During my college search I took 5 official visits (IUPUI, Indiana State, Purdue, Illinois State and Xaiver) and 2 unofficials (IU and Central Michigan). I had a hard time as each school had something great to offer but i ultimately decided on IUPUI due to the up and coming team and having one of the most respected coaches in the nation in Coach Keoppen.
Im about a week into my base training as I had Indiana All Stars the week after state (shout out to my boys Colin Holston, Josh Roche and Connor Claffin). Im just trying to build my base for the college season right now. When im not running im often out and about at the beach on lake Michigan or working out at our local Y (hopefully one day ill have nicer abs then Kyle Overway).
I hope you find some of my blogs entertaining and informative!
Happy running!!
Ryan
