When looking at some of the top programs in the state, I doubt many of our viewers would immediatly think of the Franklin Community Grizzlies. That is because much of their success came in the early part o the decade highlighted by the 2001 State Champions (#4 on the best teams of the decade list). That squad was lead by Ryan Warrenburg and Colin Riessen who placed 4th and 8th respectivlely at the state meet.
What really shows off a great program is if they can do it again without those great talents though. Franklin came back in 2007 to shock the world with a great front four and grab the last podium spot.
While Franklin may not be on the tip of everybody's tongue while talking about the best programs in the state right now, I would not sleep on them in the near future as they may be due for another strong run. They placed 12th in the heavily contended Carmel Semi State this past year, and will be looking to fill in a lot of graduated spots going into next year.
